Looking for an adult atmosphere with crafted cocktails, and a historic style spot to mingle after work or for a date night? You’re definitely going to wanna stop by The Grape and Grain Exchange over in San Marco. Even though it’s been around forever, it’s one of those spots for you to know, you’ve got to know.
I can’t tell you how many times I walked past this spot without looking twice. That is until recently, I popped in for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Great drinks, mature vibe, and a speakeasy!? Keep reading.
Inside The Grape and Grain Exchange
I was hanging out in the San Marco area just leaving The Wick Candle Bar during a girls night out and had about an hour for a dinner reservation nearby. We decided to swing by The Grape and Grain Exchange for am adult beverage and a change to chit chat in between locations.
Upon walking in you will be taken aback by the vast selection of wine and spirits on display for sale. We are talking liquor all over the walls. They have a digital menu which has a great selection of cocktails and spirits. It broken down by season and classic cocktails. From there the cocktails are categorized by bitter and boozy, short and sour, tall & refreshing, and tropical. They also have a large selection of wines, spirits, drafts. To top it all off they have a small menu of food including chips and a charcuterie board.
As far as seating, there are a few hightop table and a long bar to hang out. The bartenders offer amazing customer service and are quick.
Aside from the front behind a bookshelf is a complete luxe boom boom room The Parlour . Here is another bar with lush decor and seating. Unfortunately, my time here was short but I would love to swing by for one of their shhh jazz concerts. When I go, Ill be sure to give an update.
Drink I Tried
As mentioned the menu is vast with options, so I narrowed down my selection to what had the most hearts and reviews. It was a cocktail called Saturn. It’s under the Tropical menu and consists of gin, passionfruit, lemon, ogreat, and falernum. It was delightful… so much I ordered a second one. I definitely felt the buzz soon after.
If you’re looking for a chill hangout spot and bar I high recommend you dropping in at The Grape and Grain Exchange. And if you’re into it, take a bottle home. Check it out and let me know what you think!
