There are tons of new foodie destinations popping up around town and Millie’s adds to the list of sweet spots to enjoy. Millie’s is a family owned ice cream shop serving up ice cream, handcrafted milkshakes, boba and more. It’s the perfect set-up for the kiddos with neon lights, teddy bears, and everything sweet.
My daughter and I had the chance to pop in and I’m here to tell you all about it. Keep reading.
Inside Millie’s
Millie’s is located at 1958 San Marco Blvd. It sits right next door to Juice Box. I was in the San Marco neighborhood and noticed a bright purple storefront with colorful neon lighting and thought ‘oooh what’s that’.
A few days later I returned with my daughter to check it out. Inside is magically fun with kid friendly decor, we are talking flashing clouds, neon lights, and the cutest selfie wall that says ‘Tell Me What Is It You Plan To Do With Your One Wild And Precious Life’
Just at the selfie wall / front there are a few tables with the cutest bay window to sit and enjoy your treats. They serve ice cream by the scoop or you can elect to enjoy a waffle cone. In addition to scoops you can also try a wonder shake their version of a deluxe milkshake, or boba tea. Sadly, they do not offer sugar free, or dairy free options at this time.
They have the normal set up of ice cream and cute displays of jars with toppings such as unicorn marshmallows, candies, and chocolates. The one complaint I would have is that the counters sit up high, not allowing the little ones to see the scoops being made. Speaking of little ones, they offer a kid size which is amazing because if you know like I know, they never finish their whole snack, lol. Aside from a kids serving you can do small (1 scoop), medium (2 scoops), or large (3 scoops). The shakes come in a mason jar and are one size.
The staff was friendly and because this place is so new, it was slow. No line, no wait.
What I Tried At Millie’s
Truthfully I’d just eaten a rather large meal nearby and wanted to stop in to satisfy that after dinner sweet tooth. I tried a scoop of the Superman ice cream in a cup and my daughter tried the Cotton Candy and topped it with sprinkles and a unicorn marshmallow. Both flavors were absolutely delicious. I will be going back to give their decadent wonder shakes a try. I will admit I was not too enthused to try the boba. (I’m picky about my boba).
Overall if you’re looking for an adorable cool sweet spot to try, I would highly recommend stepping in Millie’s. Please keep in mind this spot is less than 2 weeks old and very hard to find on google. You can visit them on IG but it’s the same scenario. It’s a sweet surprise you will just have to discover yourself. Be one of the first one’s to experience this fun and adorably sweet spot.
Should you go, let me know what you think.
