Bonchon Chick

It was a Friday night, baby girl and I were having a typical mommy and me date. We were craving fried chicken, I immediately thought about where I could go where I didn’t have to remind them to fry my chicken hard. Korean Fried Chicken is always the go.

Bonchon Chicken had been on my list for a while, and this was the perfect choice. I’m going to give you the scoop of what we ordered and my honest opinion of this spot. Keep scrolling.

Visiting Bonchon

Bonchon Chicken is a nation Korean fried chicken chain with location all over the US. They specialize in chicken but with an Asian twist, hence Korean fried chicken. I had the pleasure of visiting the Town Center location here in Jax and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve heard they were good but I needed to check them out for myself.

Inside was a small cafe style setting with wooden tables a black lacquer chairs . There was a small bar toward the rear, really nothing much to discuss as far as decor. The service was friendly and prompt. We ordered the bulgogi fries, a small order of wing with soy garlic sauce, and plain house fried rice. For a drink I went with the strawberry lemonade.

Let’s Rate It

Strawberry lemonade – 10/10 Delicious and sweet. I came served in a mason jar with a decorative umbrella.

Bulgogi Fries – 10/10 I tried these as an appetizer. The fries were crisp and loaded with cheese topped with marinated beef, mozzarella cheese, a spicy mayo drizzle, and chopped green onions. Sooooo good, I would eat these 10 times over and again and again.

House Fried Rice – 8.5/10 Jasmine rice, fresh vegetables, and fried egg topped with sesame seeds and a cucumber garnish. I chose to get it plain but it comes soy garlic or bulgogi style. Delicious.

Wings (soy garlic) – 9/10 crispy, crunchy and fried to perfection. These wings are absolutely marvelous. I totally understand the hype.

If you’re looking for fast casual dining with food that is simple yet complex. I highly recommend giving Bonchon a try. They are all over the US, visit them online and find one near you.
