This Jacksonville gem is more than just a pretty face; it’s a vibrant mix of stunning architecture, trendy shops, and cafés that make your heart (and taste buds) skip a beat.
Whether you’re in the mood to sip on a latte at Bitty & Beau’s or grab a refreshing juice at Juice Box, San Marco has all the ingredients for a fabulous day out. So slip on those cute shoes and get ready to strut your stuff because this neighborhood is calling your name!
A Stroll With Style
Start your adventure by soaking in the Mediterranean-inspired homes that give the neighborhood its timeless vibe. You can practically feel the stories behind those colorful facades as you walk by. San Marco knows how to keep it classy, but don’t let that fool you—it’s got edge too. I highly recommend starting at Landon Park located at 1800 San Marco. It’s cross street is River Street. If you follow that around, your route will quickly go from cozy neighborhood to baaallin’. Behind this park lies so of Jacksonville’s most prestigious homes. And the scenery is simply breath taking. This portion of the walk alone gives rich girl vibes. So make sure you were your cutesy workout attire and wave like you own the place.
This neighborhood is a large circle that ends at the beginning of San Marco Neighborhood Square. This is going to give you about an 1.5 mile walk or so. Keep in mind, this neighborhood goes on for miles, make your hot girl walk as long as you need it to be. However, you’ve got to stop at the square. The Square is where you’re going to find two of my now favorite spots to get your eat on. Let’s keep walking shall we?
San Marco Square: The Heartbeat of It All
Once you hit San Marco Square, get ready to sip, shop, and snap pics. From trendy boutiques to cozy cafes, this spot has “treat yourself” written all over it. Plus, the iconic San Marco Theatre is still bringing vintage vibes with a modern twist. Whether you’re a local or just dropping by, you can’t help but feel a little fabulous wandering these streets. Here’s two spots I beg you to try while you’re strolling through.
- Bitty and Beau’s – a heartwarming café that champions inclusivity. With its delicious brews and warm atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to fuel your stroll while supporting a meaningful mission—employing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Grab your favorite latte and enjoy the positive energy that fills the air! I recently visiting during the Fall season. I urge you to try the iced brown butter chai latte with oatmilk it was to die for.
- Juice Box – Just a stone’s throw away from Bitty and Beau’s, you’ll find Juice Bo. A delightful spot where fresh, organic juices and smoothie bowls reign supreme. Whether you need a refreshing pick-me-up or a healthy snack, Juice Box serves up vibrant flavors that will energize your stroll. Plus, the colorful presentation of their drinks and establishment makes for an Instagram-worthy moment you won’t want to miss!
