If you’re ever looking for something to do to get through the hump day, you’ve got to check out Wine Down Wednesday. It’s a monthly event held at Vagabond Coffee in Jax’s Murray Hill neighborhood hosted by Yung OG Rawby and T The Goddess.
I had a chance to check out July’s installment (the 3rd of it’s kind) and I couldn’t be more pleased. Keep reading to find out what to expect and why you need to be in the place for the next episode.
What’s Wine Down Wednesday?
Wine Down Wednesday is held at Vagabond Coffee In Murray Hill located at 934 Edgewood Ave S, Jacksonville, FL 32205. It is a display of local art, neo soul music talent, and spoken word. It’s called Wine Down for a reason, here you can get wine specials all night long. General admission is $7.00. However, you can upgrade your ticket to include your choice of wine maxing out at $30.00. (I did general admission because I’m not entirely sure how much wine is included with the ticket purchase)
What To Expect
I will admit, when I first heard of this event and where it was to be held I was sincerely confused, Vagabond is a small coffee shop. So holding an event of this magnitude had me scratching my noggin. Upon arriving you must have tickets OR you can pay at the door. When you step in it’s exactly as stated the cutest, quirky coffee shop serving up lattes, brew, and you guessed it, wine.
What blew my mind was the entry to the real party. You exit or enter from the back door and you instantly feel like you’ve been teleported into a tunnel to enter the unknown. The tunnel I’m referring to is actually an alley, and it’s heavily decorated with murals and some of the most beautiful art from local artists. At the end you can see a crowd standing around.
Entering I could hear the music beautiful vocals from Kensie’s place magically interacting with the crowd. At the end of this mystical alley there’s a HUGE backyard style venue. Complete with food tents, DJ, and a whole urban style set up with people vibing out. I was sincerely impressed and happy I got to experience this right here in Jacksonville, Fl.
Throughout the night I experienced spoken, word, hip hop, a dance party and an all around good time. The energy and talent each artist was unmatched. Enjoying a Summer evening with a cup of wine and live music was the perfect escape from reality mid week.

I highly advise that you catch the next installment of Wine Down Wednesday. Keep in mind the performing artists change from month to month as well as the week it’s hosted. Based on my experience, I am confident they will bring it, and it’s worth a visit. For more info follow the event on Instagram.
