Today’s foodie destination, Ida Claire. The tried and true eclectic restaurant bringing Southern charm and flavor to a table near you. I was invited out for my first foodie date with a local (bomb) food & fashion blogger Katrice ‘Trice’ Shorter, writer for High Heels and Good Meals. Why we were there, what we munched on, and everything in between.. keep reading!

Mama I Made It… I Think?
It’s no secret I’ve been dabbling with Eat n’ Bougie for nearly a year. However, within the last few moths I’ve taken the whole content creation, youtube, IG, tiktok, pinterest, facebook life seriously (whew it’s a lot). Which means, I’ve been having to get out of my comfort zone, follow new people on social media, and get out to make things happen.
Someone mentioned Katrice as a great person to follow… so I did. And guess what yall!?! She followed me right back. This was me at less than 200 followers at the time and I was like whaaat. A few months later she invited me out to a salon for a mini spa day. We’ve since bumped into each other around times more than a few times. And more recently I was invited to a Galentine’s day event I vlogged about. I was like okay now!
I make the standing joke to ‘let me in with the big dogs’ and invite me to these foodie events. Jokingly but not. Let me get to the point here… she randomly text me on a Monday asking if I wanted to be her plus one for an invite dinner at Ida Claire. Uuuuh, Yeah.
Mama! I made it… local popular food bloggers are asking me out. Owwwe.
She explained she had been invited to dine in to try and create content about an exclusive Women’s History Month crafted cocktail menu. We would be comp’d cocktails, apps, dinner, and dessert. Of course I took the opportunity to go enjoy a nice evening out and give you guys the scoop on Ida Claire and their fire menu. Keep reading for what I indulged in and my favorite cocktail.
What Goes On In The Airstream Stays In The Airstream
Upon arrival I was escorted to the popular tin airstream trailer, inspired by the real life airstream that was custom made for lady Ida Claire as she traveled the world. Inside are table’s and a gorgeous standout wall paper all over. For aesthetic the benches are lined with cozy pillows. It was the perfect date night for two bloggers OG and new. We were given the option of two cocktails, a shared appetizer, an entree each, and a shared dessert.
The Women’s History Month Libation
WTF (What The Fudd)
The main reason for our visit was for Trice to get insight and content on the Women’s History Month spirit menu. Crafted by the women bartenders, this menu is serving up fresh, sweet and pretty cocktails.

Even Williams Black Bourbon | Carrot Juice | Lemon Juice | Apple Juice | Ginger Tisane | Simple Syrup | Peach Liqueur. My absolute favorite of the two. Even with the bourbon, it was still soft and sweet. One drink had me on my toes. WHEW.
Spring Forward
New Amsterdam Gin | Lemon Juice | Rothman Creme de Violet Italicus | Simple Syrup. I did not try this one personally. However, Trice confirms it was delicious.
Strawberry Fields
New Amsterdam Gin | Lemon Juice | Lemonade | Lavender Simple Syrup | Strawberry Puree. This was the second on 2 cocktails I tried, it was very sweet. If you’re not a heavy drinker this will be the one you would want to try.
The Food

Fried Green Tomatoes
Gremolata, pistou aioli. Fried to perfection with a delicious batter and green aioli dipping sauce. I would get this time and time again.
Shrimp Campanelle
Shrimp, crawfish, andouille sausage, tomatoes, corn, spinach, campanelle pasta, low country piquant cream. I can’t describe this dish other than saying it was simply delicious.
Creole Rubbed Pork Chop
Roasted sweet potatoes, sage, kale, pickled fresnos, brown butter cream. The porkchop was HUGE and packed with tons of flavor. Another dish I did not personally try. This one too is on trice.
Bourbon Pecan Pie
Absolutely scrumptious, especially with a little dabble of vanilla ice cream
Wrapping Things Up: Ida Claire
Ida Claire’s food and drinks are unquestionably delicious. Between the Women’s History Month inspired drinks to inside jokes and laughs I can say I truly enjoyed my dining experience in the airstream. Aside from that Katrice gave me tons of gems on what it takes to be a food blogger and we exchanged random girl talk. I would give all the juicy details BUT What happens in the airstream stays in the airstream. Good vibes and an overall good night.
Be sure to check out this fabulous spot and try the Women’s History Month cocktail menu before its gone.
