Today, we explore styling a pair of long camo cargo shorts. If you’re paying attention to the streets, wide leg/ long shorts are taking over and it’s easy to see why. They are comfortable, stylish, and let’s be honest we need a break from the butt cheeks being exposed lol. Anyway, i’m going to walk you through how I came up with this look in hopes of you taking a shot at pulling this look off yourself.

We simply took a few basic pieces, did a hack or two, and some flashy accessories to elevate some very simple pieces. Keep reading to find out how I did it and how you can too.

These Camo Cargo Shorts Technically Ain’t Shorts
Okay so, I have been looking for a pair of longer camo cargo shorts that were high waist and baggy… you know like actual cargo pants. I haven’t found any that suits my taste per say. That’s when I remembered I had a pair of baggy cargo pants I’d grabbed from fashion nova. What did I do? I cut those babies. Bringing you these amazing shorts you see today. I personally can’t wait to get a few washes out of them so the wear and distress can really come through.

Cutting is an extremely simple style hack that you can do to make a quick alteration to a piece. In today’s case this was extremely important for me to get the look I was going for. Now that we got the shorts out of the way let’s proceed.
Elevating Basic Pieces
I took a very simple graphic tee I just found at h&m and did another style hack. The truth is, I’m not the biggest fan of wearing a graphic tee as is. I went to one of my trusty hacks to fold this shirt up. Taking it from a boxy tee to a sexy silhouette. I love accenting an outfit with the color red. With that being said, I pulled from the red in my shirt and went in with a pair of red tassel earrings. These oversized highly noticeable drops can take any look from okay to okaaay.

For footwear I went with a pair of red band tube socks and the Travis Scott olives . For a bag, I went with a Burberry fanny pack. One reason I love camo is it is a neutral, meaning it can be mixed and matched with any color or print. It paired well with the plaid print. I also chose the fanny pack because sometimes switching it up from a typical crossbody or handbag in general is just fun.
