Unboxing and Reviewing A Pair Of Blazer Low X Off White Kicks.

The Blazer Low X Off White was not a shoe on my radar. In fact, they went from unknown to irresistible in a blink of an eye. Keep scrolling to find out why and a full unboxing and review of this special shoe created by the late Virgil Abloh.
Rest Peacefully Virgil
Before we begin I must confess, I am still shocked by Virgil Abloh’s untimely Death. Receiving news of the tragedy was like yesterday. It was a few days after Thanksgiving, I was enjoying a hearty breakfast at a cafe in Downtown Detroit watching the snow fall softly. Scrolling my Instagram feed I saw the news. I stopped, “uh uh… no way”.
The fashion culture was cut short of fashion preeminence when Virgil left, he was just… different. His work has truly been a wonder of the world. From the work put in at Louis Vuitton to the “off” designs he offered with his brand. His work is the epitome of protecting and continuing a legacy. Thus we have another Nike x Off-White collaboration, postmortem.
How did I end up with a pair? A funny but true story just ahead…
Stay Away From Sneaker Head Fiends.. I Mean Friends
The Blazer Low X Off White is a thing of awe, this shoe is a true spectacle of Virgil’s take on a classic shoe. I won’t lie, as a low key sneaker head I am not a fan of the Blazer and it shows. I own not one pair. However, my sneaker obsessed friend Zachary called me excited per usual about the shoe dropping on the SNKRS app. I was not thinking about sneakers whatsoever, nor did I have any knowledge about these. This happens pretty every time we speak.
Per usual I played him off like “yeah yeah whatever” pulling up the specs on the app. I got quiet and began observing. Looking at the technical design of the shoe and the colorway. Within seconds I was fixated on having these in my non-spoken about coveted sneaker collection. It was the standard Off-White collaboration cord lacing, holes throughout the shoe, pre-yellowed vintage style midsole, and weird ass molding on the base that made me fall in love and determined to possess. If this isn’t a Virgil creation.. I don’t know what is. Thanks a lot Zach. (rolls eyes)
SNKRS App, Bah.
A real shoe shopper knows the chances of collection an exclusive shoe at retail price on the SNKRS app runs very close to the lines of seeing an actual unicorn. You will most likely hear me talk about this every time I review a Nike, okay?
The Nike Off White Blazer Low dropped April 8, 2022. Like always at 9:58am I signed on and went for them on SNKRS. Like always I was denied the right to own this pair at the original price of 140.00. I sincerely wanted these, bad. There was no choice but to slide over to GOAT.com to secure my pair. I paid and a week later they arrived at my doorstep.

Let’s Open These Babies Up
Upon opening my package I instantly took notice of the box encasing my shoes. On the top, a serious Nike check, on one side mint green Off-White signage. But the kicker the box has holes all over. Holes! (😍).
Side Note: I really need to act like I am used to something. I own another pair of Off-White Nikes, it’s box has holes too… let me live in the moment okay.

It’s All In The Detail
At first glance the shoe was exactly like the photos online. However, upon deeply inspecting the yellowed midsole that I referred to earlier has staining and heavy textured detail, they really went for it with the vintage look. Just above this is a beige canvas stitched in and aligned completely around.

You honestly would miss it if you weren’t looking for it. The tongue of the shoe is unfinished around the edges and the inside has the standard Beaverton, Oregon stamp. Just talking about it makes me want to scream.

Per usual, “Shoelaces” is bring on the white laces and the yellow cord overlaying the design.

What can I say, I love sneakers. I overly love what the Off-White brand has done with the Blazer. Even though Virgil designed the shoe, Nike understands the assignment when it comes to attention to detail. Im going to throw myself on a limb and say, no brand compares to this. There I said it.
