Sean Wotherspoon x Adidas Superstar “Super Earth” Black. Let’s Open a Pair and Talk About Them..
I will be honest and say I haven’t bought a pair of superstars in over 10 years. Mainly because I have a heavy obsession with Dunks, Nike and the Yeezy brand in general. The Adidas Superstar has just been a “has been” in my sneaker life. It’s no wonder I wasn’t in synch with the Sean Wotherspoon Adidas Super Earth collaboration drop 10.28.2021. I knew nothing about it until recently. Shame on me.
And Then There Was Sean Wotherspoon Adidas…
To be honest I’m not sure how these came across my visual dashboard. But my gosh, the moment they did, I knew I had to have them.
Keep in mind these are a Men’s shoe, but with all this color and spunk there’s no way an “it” girl shouldn’t have these. For full details on my take of the shoe, where to buy, and a little history of the shoe designer be keep reading.

I present you The Adidas X Sean Wotherspoon Super Earth
The Box, It wins.
Let’s first start with the box. Just, wow. It is made with all Earth friendly materials and is 100% Recyclable. The box is light grey and sketched with tulips, daisies and the Sean Wotherspoon logo.
The sketched florals give you a forewarning of the contents inside. The top is labeled “Super Earth” and the bottom has a money sign with the earth as its design reminding us to stay classy and clean. My heart flutters just typing this.
Mother Earth 1st
Upon opening, there is a cardboard card breaking down the construction of the shoe. Keep reading to find out 6 things that makes this shoe Earth Friendly. There is a second card reminding you to end plastic waste and these shoes were made with recycled materials. It also references Adidas.com/Sustainability which is the brand’s promise to do their part in saving Mother Nature by creating products from recycled material. I. Love. This. ❤️🌎.
Finally, The Shoes
Upon opening the white tissue paper surrounding the purchase you are immediately hit with a wave of vibrant colors and heavy stitching. Just like the outside of the box each shoe is embroidered with matching florals and crazy fringe at the end of each one.
There are an additional marigold and white pair of shoestrings to switch up the shoe. However, they come ready with a light blue teal string.
Stick Your Tongue Out, Please!
The tongue of the shoe is vegan leather. It looks like mesh, totally breathable with holes. The right tongue has the SW Super Earth logo and the left has Super Earth Stitched. It has an earth printed on top of it.
On either shoe there is a money sign earth figure patch thingy. It is secured with the shoe laces. At the base of the lace is a plastic money sign as well. The detail on this shoe is insane!
Bodied
The upper material the shoe is predominantly black. One side of the lacing holes there is Kelly green the other side, the same light blue teal color matching the shoe strings. The sole is beige/white and show evidence of the recycled materials used to create the shoe.
At This Point, Just Sock Me
The sock liner of the shoes is orange. But heres the kicker, the sock liner cover/ insert is made of cork. Cork!!! It says Super Earth Inside. WHEW. Who are these people!?!
3 Reasons Why I Love These Sneakers
1. The Unbelievable Amount Of Detail Put Into Them
As you can see Sean Wotherspoon poured his heart into this collaboration. From the thought out display of stitching to the use of recycled materials. In fact the term “Super Earth” is quite literal meaning the Earth is super and it provides us with all that we need. Thus the vegan friendly shoe. (Gushes) This isn’t just a shoe that was thrown together. I’m curious to know what his thought process was and exactly how long it took to complete this draft.
2. The Colors
If I ever was looking for a highly diverse shoe. This can’t get much closer. The color-way of the Super Earth is sick. It literally has most color imaginable. Perfect for pairing with multiple looks. I can 100% see me wearing this with denim, dresses, greens, oranges, and purples.
3. They Are 100% Recycled and Vegan
Everything about this shoe is recycled/ non animal. The soles, the leather, even the lining sock. I am a lover of nature and I love doing my part to protect her. I recently talked about a brand, House of Sunny that follows these same practices.
The Break Down
Comfort Level
As of today I have not worn these shoes for a full day. I am at the point they have been opened, marveled over, and tried on. However, I will say they are no different than any other Adidas Superstar. Snug, comfy, and secure.
Price
I was able to locate my shoes from my fave aftermarket site GOAT for 116.00. However, the price fluctuates as low as $74.00. If you’re into sneakers this is a steal for such an amazing shoe. I will rate this shoe low in price. Especially compared to their competitors.
Where to wear these
These can be an everyday shoe. They can be worn to the grocery store or an Ikea run. If you’re like me I don’t covet sneakers whatsoever. I would wear these to the park, a festival. They are truly an everyday, everywhere shoe… if you’re into flashy shoes of course. One thing I can guarantee, someone is going to notice these shoes.
How To Buy
Like most hot sneakers if you aren’t fortunate to catch them from the original site. These can be found on GOAT, Stock X, or Flight Club. My personal preference is GOAT. But I strongly advise you to go with what site has the best price AFTER shipping, processing fees, and taxes.

Who Is Sean Wotherspoon?
He’s The Ultimate Sneaker Head
He made his way on the shoe scene about 2013 by becoming one of the founders of the vintage Virginia-based sneaker store Round Two.
The concept of his store was to pay cash for sneakers rather than consignment, allowing sellers to get paid faster. In return he was able flip the sneakers at lower price points than the competition.
From there he started a Youtube channel in 2015. Titled “The Show by Round Two”, the channel followed Sean’s life in the sneaker industry.
Fast Forward
He grinds out hard and eventually lands a collaboration deal with Nike in 2017 after winning the Nike Air Max Day “Vote Forward” Campaign. His winning design later named Sean Wotherspoon x Air Max 1/97 was a hybrid design of the Air Max 97 X Air Max 1 completed with a corduroy finish.
The color-way was slightly changed during the final production. However, was the most popular Air Max in 2018. The current aftermarket pricing is $800-3800.00!
Like any success story from there he became the “It” guy when it comes to sneaker design landing deals with Guess, Adidas, Asics, and Highsnobiety. He now owns 7 Round Two locations.
Sean Wotherspoon Super Earth Final Thoughts
What can I say, I love sneakers. But knowing so much detail was put into contributing to saving the earth to produce these and the design in general… makes me love this particular pair even more. I’m not quite sure I’m ready to put these in my “Top 5” list of all time favorite sneakers. But they can hold a spot in the top 10.
Being an entrepreneur, I respect where Sean Wotherspoon came from and understand the art of working hard to get what you want. Now that have been enlightened on his craft, I will forever be a fan. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
