Let’s talk about showing up and showing out. I pulled of this sporty style look for a local fashion show, and baby, she was giving “front row, but make it street.” I’ve been extremely attracted to the whole sporty chic vibe this season. It’s the look you can’t hate. It’s colorful, comfortable, and looks damn good. This was just a chapter from that book.

The Break Down
For this look, I took a classic blue and white striped men’s button-down and layered it with a menswear tie corset because why not cinch tradition at the waist? Balanced that sharpness with the unexpected swish of satin wide-leg Adidas track pants—yes, those track pants. High-low dressing is my native language, and I was fluent that day. Speaking of which an oldie pair of oversized round acetate Gucci sunglasses just made the look feel ‘cool’ with a bright pop of pink, bringing out the other colors from the corset.

Although this fun corset (an amazing find from Akira) essentially tied things up, I felt adding an actual tie to my top would make it appear more polished. It also solidifies the whole menswear/ sporty chic as a well prepared dish.
To top it off (literally), a Detroit Tigers baseball cap an ode to my hometown, because sometimes your glam needs a little grit. Cap-toe patent heels kept it chic, while my Louis Vuitton Speedy—with enough dangling charms to catch every flashbulb—brought that unapologetic “extra.” It was sporty, structured, and entirely my lane.
This look turned heads, and stood out. But the most important thing I was comfortable, confident, and felt sexy in my own way. Want to try something fresh this spring, i’m telling you to give sporty style a try
