This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Runway Florida Fashion Show, and it was an experience that left me in awe of the incredible talent right here in Jacksonville. It was a project that included 16 local fashion designers and 130 models.

From emerging designers to seasoned creatives, the event was a celebration of style, innovation, and craftsmanship. If you’re a fashion enthusiast like me, you know how exciting it is to witness local designers make their mark on the industry. Among the many talented designers who showcased their work, three stood out as rising stars in Jacksonville’s fashion scene. Their collections were innovative, bold, and a true reflection of their unique visions. Scaling this down to 3 designers was extremely hard whereas there was some hard competition. To give light, flowers, and exposure to multiple designers; I will be featuring local designs in the near future. But for today… I give three.
The event was sold out and packed. Shoutout to the Runway Florida team for putting this one together.
3 Designers to Look Out For from the Runway Florida Fashion Show
1. Grim Headquarters
Being a fashion girl with a large make-up of the love of art, Grim Headquarters brought a not so “safe” fast fashion perspective to the show. This brand speaks grim reaper meets tagger, featuring grungy prints with paint, rips, and tears. It’s truly a combination I can’t explain, but I like it.

This was one of the few designers with something outside of the normal screen print tee and manufactured pieces. Is it dark? Yep. Would it be called ‘weird’ amongst the masses? Absolutely. But I feel being unique is what fashion is all about. If you’re into this style, this is definitely a brand you should check out.
2. 0tlndsh
This was probably my personal favorite of all designers. 0lndsh (outlandish) serves up a retro vibe mixed with a up-cycled element. The pieces? Unique. The styling. Perfection. This is a brand that focused on streetwear and sustainable fashion, creating pieces that were not only visually striking but also thought-provoking.

Signature Look: A tapestry floral print two piece worn by one of my fave models Keemy Hendrxx that included rainbow neon piping. Solid.
3. Waviii.280
When I think of a classic streetwear brand. THIS is what comes to mind. Waviii.280 is a brand that features one of one denim and hooded pieces featuring collages of unapologetic patches. I will sadly admit I had to make an exit prior to seeing this brand walk in person (I really hate this for myself). However, Dave’s designs had been put on my radar recently and from the looks of the show’s photos waviii killed it. I can easily see this brand making a BIG wave in the city.

Honorable Mentions: Rising Talent in Jacksonville
While three designers truly stole my show, there were also a couple of other creatives who left a lasting impression with their unique styles and potential to grow in the local fashion scene.
Faded Colors
Faded Colors is another amazing 1 or 1 piece brand. Their focus is up-cycling pieces and indulging them in heavy patchwork. I also met Vince in person, super cool with amazing customer service. You’ve got to know, I stan a good pair of camo shorts he has TONS of them.

Aside from the shorts he designs heavily embellished clog like mules. I recently styled a pair of his designs in my Camo, Fluff, and a Babushka post. These brand makes show stopping pieces, period. This is a brand I high recommend you check out if you want to turn heads with unique pieces.
Harms Charm
Another designer who executed original designs Harm’s Charm is a local designer who produces beautiful crochet pieces. Honey, these weren’t your average crochet top and skirt she brought elements such a knitted roses on boobs and racy 2 piece sets.

Noteworthy Designs: One standout design was an ivory one-piece with a matching ski mask style hat complete with bunny ears. Of course there were others but this one was ‘the one’ for me.
Abrasion
- Style: Abrasion captivated the audience with their use of reworked brands such as carhart and levis mixing them with a screen print logo. Their collection was serious yet organic, pushing the boundaries of traditional design by adding a little flare.

- Why They Stand Out: Their ability to prevent waste by up-cycling common textiles was impressive, showing that Abrasion isn’t afraid to take risks. I can’t wait to see how they evolve and refine their style in the future.
Final Thoughts
The runway Florida fashion show was also a great platform for newer designers who are just starting to make a name for themselves. It’s exciting to see how Jacksonville is becoming a hotspot for fashion, and I can’t wait to see how these up-and-coming talents grow in the coming years.
