I’m loving my new Skims dress, a read of how I came to wear it.
I was concluding a delicious lunch with my favorite gal pal for our weekly meet and greet. She is my only friend who is successfully self employed, we mesh because we can relate to life in so many ways. We made a silent vow to find ‘us’ time by taking a break to explore new restaurants in town and indulge in wine and cocktails over private hilarious conversations. For us, this is a for of self care.

This week’s lunch choice Taverna, a modern upscale Italian spot located in San Marco, Jacksonville.
Rewind To Outfit Choice
The crazy Florida weather had taken a shift toward the cooler side. I decided to whip out my new Skims dress I’d recently gotten and been itching to wear.
I decided to dress the skims dress down by pairing it with the New Balance 574 Yurt and an old pair of Gucci socks. I’ve worn both of these at least 5 times, and 1 other time together. Proving hefty quality buys are worth it. For my bag my classic Speedy 25 handbag. 11 years by my side it still is a perfect on the go style.
Before lunch i’d explained to her today I was vlogging for my Youtube channel and I would be candidly filming us and I would need a few pics of my look at some point during the day.
We laughed, we ate, we got drunk. I realized our time was coming to an end. I tried getting shots in the restaurant and they just weren’t ‘it’. She’s a great sport and friend who sincerely understands the importance of getting ‘the shot’. The photos were cool, but something was missing.

I decided to just make do with the pictures we’d taken and was going to hit the little girls room before we made an exit. Looking around, I noticed the hallway leading the restroom… perfectly lit, neutral in color and aesthetic making it the perfect backdrop for photos.
Jolting back to our seat.. (scaring the shit out of her lol) “girl! meet me in the hallway” As a good friend she did, and we had a whole photoshoot. Distraction and people wondering “why the hell are they taking pictures” free.
Skims Dress, It’s a Yes.
Truthfully this is my first piece from the Skims line by Kim Kardashian. I never bought anything because 1 I miss the drops all the time, no I am not on the email list. 2 they never have my size. However, I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. So when it came across my random google search for “brown maxi dress” I figured I would give it a go. Not to my surprise the size small was sold out on the Skims website. I was about to move on like I always do, when I saw they had this skims dress in my size for a same day pickup at Nordstroms.
The material is soft yet high quality. It fits like a glove. After this experience this won’t be my last piece from the brand. Skims knows a woman’s body. Period.
