Although I adore designer shades, they aren’t always necessary to make a look chic. For example I remember I wore this look back in September.

My best friend assumed my specs they were designer because of how they were styled. The truth is, they were about 16.00 and purchased from Urban Outfitters.
Take It To The Next Level
Wearing specs can take any look to the next level, of course when paired correctly. Wearing shades is a form of art to say the least, picking which ones to wear and when determines one’s level of style.
The most fashionable celebrities and influencers wear shades. Join the party!

Depending on how much exposure you’re getting daily, sunglasses also serve as a safety measure. Keep reading to find out more about uv protection, categories, and how to determine which glasses have them.

#1. Oversized Cat Eye
One of my favorite places to shop for cool sunglasses is Nasty Gal. For years they have remained true to offering fashionable eye accessories. They always offer a discount or discount code. So, the price today most likely won’t be the price tomorrow. These transparent oversized shades are so fun. The oversized cat eye shape is a true classic. Hello fashionista.

These remind me of the Versace Medusa Icon shield glasses, but a heavy fraction of the cost. Although light, they too offer UV protection. I wouldn’t suggest looking directly toward the sun in these.

Cool Sunglasses Cheap: The Good and Cons
Cheap Sunglasses… Not To Be Mistaken For Cheap Quality.
When you read the term “cheap sunglasses”, don’t turn your nose up. Truth is, some of my favorite shades cost under 50.00. These said shades have withheld the test of time offering continuous style for numerous looks. They have graced my Instagram page undetected. How? It’s not about how much you spend on them. It’s how you wear them. That’s with any piece of fashion.
The best thing about cheap sunglasses? If you break them or loose them they can easily be replaced without breaking the bank. Trust me, I’ve lost some fairly expensive shades and felt a little sick about it initially. A cheap pair? I feel irritated only if I can’t reorder them due to being sold out.
Cons To Wearing Cheap Sunglasses
I’m not going to make it seem as if cheap sunglasses don’t come with a price. There are some drawbacks to wearing cheap sunglasses.
- They can break easily. Sometimes manufacturing is just.. well, cheap. I’ve had an arm of some specs break within 30 minutes of me wearing them. Bummer.
- They can not fit properly or hurt. A perfect example of this. The purple shades mentioned above were worn to a theme park recently. They completely protected my eyes all day and looked cool. However, they slightly gave my temple a twinge of pain after sitting in the same spot for a long period of time. They needed to be adjusted often throughout the day. This can happen with cheaper glasses. But for $18.00 I don’t mind, they will be worn again without hesitation.
- They sell out fast. Trendy, cute, cheap sunglasses go really fast. Why? Everyone wants them because they are trendy cute, and cheap. My advice if you see a pair you like and can afford them. Buy them.

Fashion Is Cool, But Safety Matters
Fashionistas around the world use sunglasses as a fashion accessory to add a touch of finesse to their style during the spring and summer months. However, not everyone is aware that UV sunglasses serve as a safety measure in addition to being fashionable.
Right now the summer sun is kicking butt in Florida. Aside from wearing sunscreen daily, I often wear sunglasses to protect my eyes from the strong UV Rays. Because of this, sunglasses have quickly become a necessary accessory when styling looks. The lenses of sunglasses protect your eyes from harmful uv rays
What Are UV Rays Anyway?
We have all heard the term UV ray. But what is it? The scientific term is Ultraviolet Radiation. It is a form of electromagnetic radiation that comes from the sun and man-made sources like tanning beds. Long story short its VERY harmful to the eyes and can lead to eye health issues. Sunglasses serve as a shield to prevent this from happening.
Sunglass protection is broken down by category. I found this cool article on SmartBuyGlasses.com that really gives a full run down of UV protection and categories. If you’re interested check it out. Remember, this is a fashion blog not a science class. Lol!
Cool Sunglasses In Conclusion
Wether sunglasses are cheap or expensive I love them. As you can see you can find amazing deals on inexpensive quality shades. Saving tons of cash while still looking stylish is easy. The ones mentioned above will surely be gracing my IG timeline over the next few weeks. Which are your faves?
