I’ve Been Watching These It Girls All 2023, and You Probably Should In 2024.
Let’s face it, we all have a muse we get the feels from. Weather it be fashion, lifestyle, career, or just being them… there’s someone we marvel at in awe who get’s our juices flowing. For me? I have a locals whom I’ve been eyeing like a hawk… today is the day I give them recognition and hopefully get you acquainted.
Over the past year, I’ve watched them post memorable photos, create stellar content, grow communities, and execute bomb events. These ladies ‘do it’ for me in one way or another. Instead of watching in silence like a creep, I figured I should tell you about them from my little corner of the world. Want some new new to refresh your feed with a little pop? The Seamstress

Truth is, this one is way more personal than just knowing of her. I met Daisa when she was 14 years old during another fashion venture and era, she asked for me to mentor her. I accepted and we’ve maintained a relationship since. We’ve blogged together, she’s modeled for me, I farewelled her off to college, and was at the graduation party. She’s a flower I’ve watched bloom over the years.
But here’s the kicker about her… she is an amazing seamstress. Don’t let her baby face and coy laugh fool you, she is a monster on the sewing machine.
She literally can recreate anything your heart desires, and owns a brand called Waisted Attire. I pray she comes out of her shell and shows out this year. The world needs you Daisa! Let’s get it, i’ve got your back. Aside from being talented on the sewing machine her IG feed gives the vibes. She’s always been one of my fave it girls and she can easily become one of yours.

I met Keyera randomly at an Art Walk in September in 2022, I’d noticed her outfit and had to stop her. Trying not to be weird (lol) did my normal spill of being a fashion blogger and asked if I could photograph her. We exchanged info and she became one of the first women I highlighted on the page. But here’s the thing… she is a mother fucking unicorn bro. When I first went on her IG my soul was set on fire.. she’s just different. She’s heavy into the, fashion and art world. She designs clothes, she is a creative director, a poet, a biker, just an all out flower child in modern day form.
You never know with Key. But what I do know, is she is that gworl. High on the list when it comes to my it girls category.

Lisa is a devoted wife and mother of two who eats beauty content outside of being a corporate baddie. She and I connected a little over a year ago, and I instantly took a liking to her. On her youtube and Instagram posts she bares all and gives the girls the lewks when it comes to beating a face and smelling good. She recently hit the 1k mark on her youtube channel ‘Lisa Sykes’ (congrats girl!!) and I can’t wait to see where she goes from here. Her content is crisp, the music is lit, and she can show you a thing or two. Let her.

The Art Curator

When I think of it girls, Kandice checks off so many things on my list from an initial standpoint. Wife, mother, creative, baddie… period. This young lady is not only married to one of the hardest artists in the city, she is devoted to the arts in general.
Kandice runs a a few business dedicated to the love of art including black mural map (a guide to black public art around jax), knecole art, and The Petite a pop art gallery. The Petite is what made me follow her like a little lamb as she pulled off three of the dopest public art events I’ve seen in a while the heart of downtown Jax over the summer. If you missed The Wick’d Out show and two to follow, you were under a rock.
Every time you see her she is chill, but she eats her passion for art alive. If you aren’t hip to her and are into the art world, she’s the oracle.

The Good Girl

Idk how Rick and I came in each other’s presence online, but i’m glad we did. She is a nurse / all around it girl. She is heavy into high fashion, art, travel, and everything dope. She’s the girl who went to Paris to see Beyonce, gracing our timeline with Tabi boots and photo dumps.
The real thing most may not know about her is she is a devoted christian who is constantly looking to further her relationship with God. Her personal growth journey is beautiful. Buuuut to really see this part of her and BTS to her amazing trips, you’ve gotta be locked in her close friends. (I just so happen to be lol) In either case, her general pop timeline is colorful, inspiring, and makes you want to get yourself together, period.

The Doctor

Stephanie came into my view not because she was a doctor, but because she runs one of the hottest event design companies in Jax The Orchid Elite. She hosted an all inclusive white party, the turned around and socked us with a bougie ass all black dinner party (no, this was the name lol). Her craft, attention to detail, and her ability to put on a quality event is what made me respect her. Her spicy attitude is what made me fall in love. If you need a party designer, I swear you need her on your lifeline.
Although she is amazing in the event design field, in reality her day time custom is a doctor. She took at shot on herself and started her own primary care this year. Aside from having you breathe and cough while she examines you, she makes health fun; hosting exercise and cooking classes. If you need affordable health care from a woman who is personable and genuinely cares, she is your girl.

The Socialite

When you think of it girls, she is that. Tallia has a way to make everything look aesthetically pleasing, sexy, and luxurious. She runs a few brands around town but her GOAT is a page called With Sunday Social, a brand and marketing agency that cultivates creativity through media giving Jax all of the hottest spots to hang.
She also host events around town including paint and sips, parties, markets, and dinners. I had the opportunity to join her for her 5th year anniversary dinner and let’s just say, it was the place to be. If you’re needing the it girl (and guy) spots to hang she’s the connect. You’re definitely gonna wanna follow her.

The Vibe

Another vintage it girl for me. Chelsie has consistently been artsy, very much fashion, and dope. Her content is quirky and bad bish like, giving us odd shots of designer and glitz. She is in management at Gucci and a creative director doing her thing around town with some of the hottest photographer and models. If you want yas girl vibes, your going to want to keep up with this one.

A personal friend of mine, Tamara Jules is an all around good girl and seems meek from the outside looking in. But baby, behind that lens she is a madwoman. I mean this in the most complimentary way possible.
She not only knows how to work the settings on her camera, she knows how to work any subject catching the scene it the most captivating moments. She is spicy and makes you feel confident during your session, I know because she photographed me earlier in the year; making me feel and look like the baddest to walk the earth. If you need a girl’s girl photographer, she is going to be the one. Book her for your next session, you won’t be disappointed.

The Foodie
Katrice Shorter aka Trice is a science teacher by day, but all around foodie baddie by night. This woman is always on the GO putting you up on all the hottest bars, restaurants, and the best social events around town. I honestly don’t know how she keeps up lol. When I first started Eat n’ Bougie she immediately welcomed me in and showed me the ropes when comes to making an online presence (thank you for that Trice’).
Aside from food and fashion on her IG you can now find her on Youtube at Will Work For Heels TV, giving you live footage of her amazing hot girl life.
