If I’m being completely honest, summer is probably my least favorite season to get dressed. Don’t get me wrong; I love sunshine, patio dates, and finding excuses to order an iced coffee. What I don’t love is standing in front of my closet wondering how to look cute when it’s hotter than a sidewalk in July.

The good news? Getting dressed doesn’t have to be complicated.
One thing I’ve been challenging myself to do this year is shop my closet before shopping the stores. In fact, the only “new” piece featured in today’s outfits is this red and white striped camisole. Everything else was already hanging in my closet waiting for its moment to shine.
So if you’ve been feeling like you need an entirely new wardrobe to survive summer, consider this your reminder that you probably have more outfit potential than you think. With one simple striped tank and a few pieces you already own, I’m sharing five easy, no-fuss outfit ideas that are comfortable enough for the heat and cute enough to make it look like you actually tried.
Because a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do… and that includes serving looks, even when it’s 100 degrees outside.

Today’s Camisole
Before we jump into the outfits, let’s talk about today’s star of the show; the camisole. I recently snagged this red and white striped cami from Abercrombie & Fitch for around $29, and it’s part of their wildly popular Bra-Free ’90s Cami Collection. The cami features built-in padding in the bust area, which sounds great in theory. However, in my personal opinion, it ain’t holding up nothing, honey. 😂 If you’re looking for a little lift and support, I’d still recommend reaching for a good strapless push-up bra.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, there is a lot to love about this cami. The collection comes in roughly 18 different colors and patterns, so if red and white stripes aren’t your thing, you’ve got plenty of options. The color saturation is rich, the quality feels substantial, and the fabric has a nice weight to it thanks to its 95% cotton and 5% elastane blend. It’s soft, stretchy, comfortable, and doesn’t feel flimsy like some summer tanks can. Honestly, it’s a bestseller for a reason.
Of course, as always, you don’t need my exact pieces to recreate these outfits. The goal isn’t to copy and paste what I’m wearing. The goal is to find a camisole you love, shop your own closet, and make it do what it do.
Look 1: Camisole + Denim Mini Skirt
For the first look, we went right back to the basics.
I reached for the same denim mini skirt you’ve seen me style before (because we’re shopping our closets over here!) and tucked in my striped camisole for an effortless, cool-girl vibe. To create a denim-on-denim moment, I layered on a thrifted medium-wash oversized denim jacket.
Now listen… I know it’s hot outside. 😂 But hear me out! This outfit is perfect if you’re headed somewhere with aggressive air conditioning, grabbing dinner in the evening, or you’re simply one of those girls who refuses to give up layering no matter the temperature.

To finish the look, I added my cow print mules and wore a black mini top-handle bag as a crossbody. The combination feels casual, polished, and just interesting enough without trying too hard.
Style Tip: One of the easiest ways to mix prints is by pairing stripes with an animal print. Since both patterns are timeless, they complement each other without competing for attention. It’s an easy styling trick that adds personality to even the simplest outfits.
The best part? You probably already own most of these pieces. Swap in your favorite camisole, denim skirt, denim jacket, and animal print heels, and you’ve got an easy summer outfit that’s equal parts classic and cool.
Pieces Used:
- Black mini top-handle bag
- Striped camisole
- Denim mini skirt
- Oversized denim jacket
- Animal print heels (cow print, leopard, zebra- you choose!)
Look 2: Camisole + Camo Shorts
If you weren’t convinced by the first look, here’s proof that the mixed-print theory really works.
This time, I paired my striped camisole with a custom pair of camo shorts. Stripes and camouflage may not seem like an obvious match, but that’s exactly why they work. Mixing prints doesn’t have to be intimidating—it just takes choosing patterns that complement rather than compete with each other.
Of course, I couldn’t leave well enough alone. I decided to take things up a notch by adding my Dalmatian print Vans. It might sound like a lot, but because the prints are grounded in neutral tones, the outfit still feels balanced instead of busy. I finished everything off with my everyday handbag, my Louis Vuitton Speedy 30, complete with a few charms for a little extra personality.

Style Tip: If you’ve been wanting to experiment with mixing prints, start with stripes and camouflage. It’s one of the easiest combinations to pull off, and if you’re feeling a little adventurous, throw on an animal print sneaker for an unexpected touch. Fashion should be fun!
The beauty of this outfit is that it’s easy to recreate with whatever you already own. Grab your favorite camisole, a pair of camo bottoms, comfortable sneakers, and your go-to handbag, and you’re ready to roll.
Pieces Used:
- Striped camisole
- Camo shorts (or your favorite camo bottoms)
- Sneakers of your choice (bonus points for an animal print!)
- Everyday handbag
Look 3: Camisole + Printed Skirt
Alright, this is my last example of mixing prints… I promise. 😂
For this look, I reached for the same tiered polka dot skirt I styled in a previous article because she deserves another moment. But don’t get hung up on the exact skirt—this outfit works with just about any printed skirt you already have. Remember our style tip: stripes are one of the easiest patterns to mix with other prints, so don’t be afraid to experiment.
Since y’all know I have a slight obsession with scarves, I couldn’t resist adding one here. I took a red and white floral scarf I scored on Amazon and tied it into a top-knot headband. It’s such an easy way to add personality to an outfit without piling on more layers.

Top || Skirt || Sneakers (Budget friendly option) || Bag (similar) || Sunglasses || Scarf
For shoes, I laced up one of my favorite sneaker purchases in a long time: the Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoes in Pearl White. They’re sleek, comfortable, and keep the outfit feeling fresh. To finish everything off, I added a rounded beige straw handbag and a pair of gold aviator sunglasses for that effortless summer touch.
Style Tip: Accessories can completely change the feel of an outfit. A simple scarf worn as a headband instantly makes a basic camisole and skirt combo feel more styled and intentional.
Whether your printed skirt is polka dots, florals, gingham, or leopard print, this outfit is proof that you can create a fun summer look with pieces you probably already own.
Pieces Used:
- Striped camisole
- Printed skirt (I wore a tiered polka dot skirt)
- Low-profile sneakers
- Straw handbag
- Scarf (worn as a headband)
- Sunglasses
Look 4: Camisole + Menswear Trousers
If you’ve been around for a while, you already know I love a good pair of menswear trousers. So naturally, they had to make another appearance.
This look proves that a simple camisole can easily be dressed up with tailored pieces already hanging in your closet. The trousers instantly elevate the outfit while still keeping it comfortable enough for everyday wear.
Instead of mixing prints with another clothing piece this time, I shifted the focus to my accessories. I wrapped a printed scarf around my head and finished the look with a pair of leopard print heels. It’s a fun reminder that prints don’t always have to come from your clothing- your accessories can do the heavy lifting, too.

One of my favorite details, though, is the belt situation. Rather than reaching for just one belt, I layered three cognac belts around my waist to create texture, add visual interest, and define my shape. It’s a small styling trick that completely transforms the outfit and gives it a more editorial feel without requiring anything new.
To finish the look, I carried my Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 (because she’s an everyday kind of girl) and threw on my trusty gold aviator sunglasses. And yes… I’m repeating accessories on purpose. Around here, we wear, rinse, and repeat our favorite pieces; we don’t run out and buy ten more just because a new outfit calls for it.
Style Tip: Before buying another accessory, challenge yourself to style the ones you already own in a new way. Repeating your favorite bags, sunglasses, and shoes doesn’t make your outfits boring- it creates a signature style that’s uniquely yours.
Pieces Used:
- Striped camisole
- Menswear trousers
- Leopard print sandals or heels
- Printed scarf (worn as a head wrap)
- Cognac belts (layered)
- Everyday handbag
- Gold aviator sunglasses
Look 5: Camisole + Retro Athletic Shorts
Who says comfortable can’t be cute?
For this look, I paired my striped camisole with a pair of beige retro-inspired athletic shorts for an outfit that feels sporty, effortless, and perfect for those days when the temperatures are working everybody’s last nerve. 😂
I reached for my Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoes again because they’re quickly becoming my go-to summer sneaker, then repeated the same striped floral scarf as a head wrap along with my trusty gold aviator sunglasses. See what we’re doing here? We’re building outfits—not buying new accessories for every single look.

Top || Shorts (similar) || Sneakers (budget friendly option) || Scarf || Bag || Sunglasses
To elevate the outfit just a bit, I swapped in my mini Gucci crossbody. The structured bag adds a little touch of luxury and balances the casual feel of the shorts, proving that you can mix athletic pieces with elevated accessories without feeling overdressed.
The final result is sporty, comfortable, and just a little sexy while still feeling completely wearable. Most importantly? It beats the heat, and that’s the assignment this time of year.
Style Tip: One of the easiest ways to make athletic shorts feel more polished is by pairing them with elevated accessories. A structured handbag, a chic scarf, or your favorite sunglasses can instantly take the outfit from “running errands” to “put together without trying too hard.”
Pieces Used:
- Striped camisole
- Retro-style athletic shorts
- Low-profile sneakers
- Scarf (worn as a head wrap)
- Mini crossbody or statement bag
- Gold aviator sunglasses
Look 6: Camisole + Athleisure Skort
If you ever catch me out in the real world during the summer, there’s a very good chance I’ll be wearing some version of this outfit.
It’s one of my favorite formulas because it’s simple, comfortable, and still looks put together without requiring much thought. I paired my striped camisole with an athleisure skort (you know, the kind that’s secretly shorts underneath), then finished the look with my go-to New Balance 530 dad sneakers.
To keep things casual, I threw on a baseball cap and carried my black mini top-handle bag as a crossbody. The combination is effortless and perfect for everything from running errands to grabbing lunch or spending the day out and about.
This is one of those outfits you can wear on repeat all summer long simply by swapping out the colors or accessories. It’s proof that having a few versatile basics in your closet can take you much further than constantly buying new clothes.

Top || Skort || Hat || Sneakers || Bag (similar)
Style Tip: Every closet needs a “summer uniform”—an outfit formula you know you can throw on without overthinking it. Find a combination of pieces that makes you feel comfortable and confident, then repeat it with different colors, shoes, or accessories throughout the season. Trust me, nobody is keeping score.
Pieces Used:
- Striped camisole
- Athleisure skort (or athletic shorts)
- Dad sneakers
- Baseball cap
- Black mini top-handle bag
Look 7: Camisole + A-Line Skirt
We’re wrapping things up with one of my favorite combinations—a classic camisole and an A-line skirt.
For this look, I shopped my closet (per usual) and pulled out my khaki A-line maxi skirt with a puff hem. The structured silhouette paired with the striped camisole creates an outfit that feels effortless, feminine, and perfect for those days when you want to look a little more polished without sacrificing comfort.

Top || Skirt || Scarf || Sneakers || Sunglasses (similar) || Bag
Rather than reaching for my gold aviator sunglasses again, I switched things up with a pair of khaki sunglasses to complement the skirt. I also brought back the same striped floral scarf as a head wrap because, remember, we’re repeating our favorite accessories—not buying new ones for every outfit. To keep the look grounded, I slipped on my Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoes and finished everything off with a light beige YSL crossbody.
The result is an easy summer outfit that feels elevated while still being practical enough for everyday wear. It’s comfortable, it’s chic, and most importantly, it proves that one simple camisole can take on a completely different personality depending on what you pair it with.
Style Tip: Don’t underestimate the power of repeating accessories. Rewearing the same scarf, sneakers, handbag, or sunglasses throughout your wardrobe creates a cohesive personal style and helps you get more value out of the pieces you already own.
Pieces Used:
- Striped camisole
- A-line skirt
- Low-profile sneakers
- Crossbody bag
- Sunglasses
- Scarf (worn as a head wrap)
