Styling The New Balance 550 Green and White 4 Ways Made Easy

I recently purchased the New Balance 550 Green and White. This is my first pair in this series of New Balance and I must say I’m highly please with the style and overall comfort. If you’re an established sneaker head, a newbie to the game, or know nothing about sneakers and want to try a cool shoe; the New Balance 550 is the kick for you. Keep reading to learn more about the 550 and 4 ways you too can fashionably style these unique sneakers.

About The New Balance 550 Series

To know me is to know I love sneakers. But, I hadn’t bought any in almost 4 months, so this was a marvelous edition to add to my collection after a brief sneaker buying pause.

Once labeled as ‘Dad Sneakers’ the New Balance brand has made its way back to the front line of the fashion world. New Balance offers series of not only stylish shoes but equally comfortable.

The New Balance 550 gives off a 80s vibe but totally appropriate for modern fashion. They come in an array of color choices. Long story short if the New Balance 550 green and white aren’t your cup of tea they have just about every color as an alternative. Have fun! You can bet I certainly will be investing in a few more colors myself.

I personally love the color green, so it’s no wonder when I saw these a few months back they immediately went on my GOAT ‘want’ list and I eventually took the 265.00 plunge and grabbed my pair after market.

Unboxing The New Balance 550 Green and White Sneaker

The box, is the standard blue/grey box, no extra laces came with this pair. They are mostly white leather but trimmed with light grey suede around the toe. They feature a hunter green ‘N’ on either side and are trimmed with the same color all over. In person this shoes are simply lustful. Especially if you’re a sneaker lover, the detail gone into this shoe is to be admired.

Comfort Level: 10/10

It’s no secret New Balance are some of the most comfortable sneakers on the game. The 550 align with that statement without question.

I got the chance to wear these shoes immediately after receiving them, they were extremely comfortable, even after an airport trip and long walk in Downtown Detroit. I would give these a 10/10 in the comfort department. The soles seemed to have an extra layer of support.

Originally priced at $110.00 USD the New Balance 550 Green and White is no longer available at MSPR. I personally prefer GOAT for my aftermarket needs. They authenticate your shoes and the turn around time from your order being placed to door step is within 14 days.

Styling The New Balance 550 Green and White.

I did a little research to get my own inspiration on what to do with my newly acquired 550s. Low and behold the fashion gworls are killing these sneakers. Celebs like Kendall Jenner graced the streets pairing the 550s with leather pants and a chic blouse. Other fashionistas, sweats, biker shorts, leather jackets, and trench coats.

I was pleasingly overwhelmed with style ideas. From there I was able to put my own looks together. Keep reading as I share 4 easy looks with you.

Everyday Style

The most obvious way to wear these sneakers is as an everyday, casual style. Because the colder days are amongst us I layered a simple grey sweatshirt with a cool varsity jacket and leggings. I paired the look with high tube socks bunched and a chic woven handbag I found on Amazon along with these other high quality black items. So comfy warm and cute for an every look.

You can put your own twist to this look, by trying a hoody with your varsity jacket versus a sweatshirt. Any tube socks or hoody will work. I simply chose an old pair of Nike socks and sweatshirt I had laying around.

Leather Weather

It’s leather weather baby. One of my fave fabrics to wear this season is leather and faux leather. For this look I took a simple Levis denim button up shirt and paired it with a pair of faux leather trousers. To give the look more sauce, I added a matching dark green baseball cap. For the bag? You guessed it, the same woven bag.

I styled this same button down shirt with a pair of denim shorts and metallic boots, if you’re looking for another way to wear this staple piece.

Dress It Up, Literally

If you don’t know now you know… satin slip style dresses are a thing. If you don’t have one, change that. Not only is this style dress versatile it’s sexy. Yes, you can wear it with heels, but today I chose the New Balance 550 Green and White.

For this look, I went with an oversized denim jacket, the same nike tube socks as the previous look along with the same baseball cap. For the bag, a green mini Telfar bag.

A Good Sweater and Distressed Jeans Please

When it comes to fall fashion. Nothing is more simple than a classic ‘jean and sweater’ look. Here I took multi green shaded edgy cropped sweater and paired it with a wide leg split hem pair of jeans. I don’t own many sweaters but when I do, it’s gotta look like this.

In regards to jeans remember these details when shopping for your next pair wide leg, baggy, distressed, split hem. Got it? Good.

Although they may seem intimidating at first glance, the New Balance 550 is very easy to style. If you’re considering these shoes, get them! They are a great buy.
