Let’s admit it, we all get a sweet tooth from time to time. You just want something ooey gooey or sugary to fulfill it. And if you have kids, sweet treat destinations are a great way to spent wholesome quality family time. Which brings us to today’s topic… the sweetest spots in Jacksonville.

During my daughter’s recent spring break from school I thought it would be a fun idea find the best sugary spots in Jacksonville. Yes, this was risky being that my kid is only 5 years old, can we say hyper and sugar overload!? But thats the best thing about being a parent right? You can spoil them and proceed to yell at them for bouncing off the walls. lol.
If you live is Jacksonville and find your self in the bind of needing to fill a sweet tooth craving, I’ve got you covered showcasing 5 of the sweetest destinations in Jax. We went, indulged, and rated. Because I was doing this with a five year old we rated each spot from 1 to 5. Keep reading to find out the spots we picked AND why I had to cut the search short.
Day 1: Duck Donuts (5/5)
To start off our search to satisfy a sweet tooth, why not start with the ultimate treat, DONUTS. I googled ‘The best donuts in Jacksonville’ and found this spot. Duck Donuts is located at 13820 Old St Augustine Rd STE 14. The location is bright with toy ducks everywhere. So cute for the kiddos. The best part? Each donut is made to order and prepared in front of you. That’s right.. each order is fresh and hot. The whole bakery is out front allowing you to see your delish donuts being prepared. These donuts are amazing and the perfect fun spot to hang out with your little one.

Our rating for Duck Donuts 5/5
Our Faves
- Blueberry Pancake – Blueberry icing with a drizzling of maple syrup.
- Sunrise – Lemon Icing, Raspberry Drizzle
Day 2: Moge Tee (5/5)
For day 2 my daughter, Phoenix wanted to ‘go to the drink place with the cat cups’. Moge Tee is located in the Baymeadows area at 9932 Old Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256, It is a bubble/boba tea shop featuring a hefty list of specialty drinks. I’m a newcomer to the boba tea gang. However, if you’re an OG you won’t be disappointed.

This is actually a 2nd go round for my daughter and I. Even the second go round, this place can’t do wrong! You can order at the kiosk inside, or the good ole fashion way at the counter. The service is fast and the drinks are delish. Giving you a different spin on a sweet tooth.
We rate this sweet tooth destination a 5/5
What We Tried
- Mango Mochi
- Yogurt Mango Tea
Day 3: Crumbl Cookies (3.5/5)
I’ve heard so many rants and dislikes about Crumbl Cookies, I figured this would be the perfect time to try custom gourmet cookies. Here’s the deal with Crumbl. Each week they feature 6 flavors of cookies giving you, the consumer a reason to keep coming back. We visited the Southside location at 3267 Hodges Blvd.

The week we visited was the week of St Patrick’s day so the theme was loosely based around the holiday. Our selections were the Milk Chocolate Chip, Mint Brownie, Butterscotch Chip, Mallow Creme ft. Lucky Charms, Cookies & Cream, and Sugar (Gold Coin) (We opted for the signature pink sugar)
As you can see, this sweet tooth destination did not get a 5/5 here’s why.
The Pros
- These cookies are huge. We are talking larger than my hand. The consistency is soft and mouth watering.
- They are on point with the flavors. The chocolate chip was perfect and the butterscotch, heavenly.
- The location is modern and not your average cookie shop. There is a kiosk to order, and your selections are immediately boxed, displayed to you, and off you go.
The Cons
- Some of the selections were just too sweet… sugar, icing, and candy overload
- These cookies are expensive I spent nearly $27.00 for 6 cookies
- This spot does not have indoor seating, this is a stop drop and roll situation. But still very much kid friendly.
Our Faves
- Chocolate Chip
- Pink Sugar
- Butterscotch
Depending on when you go, there will be different selections. Even with all the change, one thing thats for sure. Curmbl Cookies can be added to your sweet tooth destinations to satisfy your craving.
Day 4: Springfield Scoops (10/5)
What’s a sweet tooth hunt without ice cream!? Located in Downtown Jax in the Springfield neighborhood at 1807 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32206. This is a black owned ice cream shop that features quality in house made ice cream. Not only are the flavors in house, so are the waffle cones and bowls! Guys! I can’t stress enough how cute this shop is and how delicious the ice cream is there.

You’re allowed to sample, every flavor was on point and not lacking on the chunks of fruit or chocolate that’s supposed to be there. WHEW. Keep in mind their flavors rotate daily, offering over 107 flavors to choose from.
Our Faves
- Classic Strawberry
- Orange Creamsicle
- Hawaiian Fruit
From banana splits, to simple scoops, to waffle cones Springfield Scoops is my top choice for hard serve ice cream in town to date. They get a 10 out of 5 in our book. Yeah, it’s that good.
Day 5: The Yard, Milkshake Bar (4/5)
(This is the spot that took me out)
The Yard, Milkshake Bar is a newer spot at The St Johns Town Center at 4906 Town Center Pkwy UNIT 406, Jacksonville, FL 32246. Based on the name, it’s pretty obvious they specialize in over the top milkshakes. With shakes like Cereal killer, the mermaid, and birthday cake. These milkshakes will not only satisfy your sweet tooth, they could put you in a sugar coma. haha. Actually, this sort of kind of happened to me and after this place, the tour ended early.

In all honesty, these shakes are high quality, thoughtful, and downright delicious. It’s the perfect place to hang with your kids, or even a cute date night.
The Cons
- Some of the shakes were just a sugar and treat overload. For example: the birthday cake. It was extremely sugary and they had the nerve to slap a whole cupcake on top.
- This place can get really pricey. The shakes that they push are the pint sized specialty shakes. Priced at $17.00 each for the two of us with tax and tip included we spent nearly 45.00! Granted these shakes come with a souvenir glass. Please keep this in mind if you have a large party. We went with other for this trip so we got to sample several of the signature shakes.
For each signature shake there is a matching ice cream bowl priced at 12.00. You can also get your fix with a simple scoop of ice cream and toppings. With 66 flavors to choose from theres something for everyone. They also serve edible cookie dough and offer vegan friendly options! This is the ultimate sweet spot and the interior is the CUTEST. Modern with fun pictures all over, the kids will love this. It’s not the biggest place so indoor seating is limited. However, they also offer outdoor seating.
My favorite part was when we were done, they have a wash tub for you to wash all the uneaten treats from your glasses and take them home with little mess as possible. 🙂
Our Fave Signature Shakes
- Old school banana split
- The Mermaid
- Rainbow Chip Brownie
