Crazy Shein Haul – Pairing New Pieces With Staples That May Already Be In Your Closet.

Shein has quickly become one of my favorite sites to find quality trendy pieces to serve as additions to my looks and current wardrobe. I can genuinely say this is not a “hit or miss” site when it comes to what you see is what you’re sent. I recently did a mini Shein Haul of more than a few items. Guess what? Each item is under 20.00!
Friday Night Dress Up
I’ve been crazy busy with business so this “haul” had been sitting in my closet waiting to be opened for nearly 2 weeks (yikes). I stayed inside on a Friday night and said. “Hmmm let’s do an unboxing and make an IG Reel like I always do. This then turned into taking it a step further and I’ve officially created a Youtube Channel. Surprise! (Nervous laugh) Be sure to subscribe! Plenty of awesome things to come.
Here’s each piece I got with my Shein Haul and a quick run down of ways I matched them up with items that were already in my wardrobe. But sure to read through to get a few styling tips if you’re trying to rebuild / build a wardrobe

Piece x Piece
#1 Graphic Print T-Shirt Dress
I am trying my best to incorporate more dresses into my wardrobe. Even though I have gotten away from obsessively wearing graphic t-shirts I will grab one from time to time. In the case of this dress two things attracted me. 1. It’s made from 100% cotton. 2. I love the length and the thigh split. So sexy.

Hat \ Dress\ Bag \ Shoes \ Earrings
I decided to candidly pair it with my platform Prada Sneakers and nylon Prada baseball cap.. I completed the look with large gold hoops and a bright red Philip Lim Bag.
#2 Men’s Graphic Tee

T shirt \ Jacket \ Bag \ Shorts \ Sneakers
Because sometimes men just have better graphic tees. When I saw this shirt, the thing that intrigued me the most was the color combination. I knew I would pair it with an Orange Telfar bag I recently copped with a fave low top dunk. Once I received the order I took a chance and paired with with the above mentioned. I added some cut-off skinny jeans I’ve had for years I purchased from Fashion Nova. Literally cut the jeans. I love layering so I made the look pop with a camo jacket I bought month ago cruising through a Van’s store for shoes.
#3 Fold Pleated Top

This shirt keeps selling out, but it returns. Well, this was the case for me. My favorite color is green so anything in the green family is going to catch my eye. For this look I simply tried some heavily destroyed split hem jeans, clear, heels, and a simple Jumbo GG Gucci pouch I recently purchased and unboxed on the blog.
#5 Knitted Dress
Again, I love the color green. I chose this dress because it’s SEXY. Playing dress up I just couldn’t figure out how I wanted to style it just yet. But knowing me, it will be something off. I’ll be sure to keep you updated with what I choose.

#6 Fuzzy Trim Crop Top
I bought some feather trimmed low heels and I have been lightly.. barely obsessed with finding a match for them. I sporadically look for “feather” clothing on websites just to see what I see.

Top \ Jeans (Similar) \ Bag \ Sunglasses \ Heels
In the case of the said top, I thought it was adorable and a perfect match for the heels. For dress up purposes I tried some old faded skinny jeans I’ve had forever and a mini bag. I think it would work for an evening out indulging in cocktails.
#7 Cow Print Bag

Bag (similar) \ Dress \ Boots \ Jacket \ Sunglasses
Cowabunga. I low-key have an obsession with cow print. So anytime I see it I gravitate toward it. With this look I’m exploiting it. I originally purchased the dress just because of the said reasons. However, I knew I would pair the sunglasses with the dress. To put a little “why not” into this look… the cow print bag from Shein. One thing every lady should have in her closet is a real leather jacket. It makes the perfect finishing piece to complete this look.
Tropical Print Halter Top

Top (Sold out) similar \ Jeans (similar) \ Heels (Similar) \ Bag\ Earrings
I recently talked about wearing halters so this top fits the bill. The vivid colors scream summer. I paired this top with some really wide jeans, gold platforms, with the matching accessories. This is the perfect look to wear for an evening out on a date or hanging with friends.
Tips | Building a Wardrobe One Piece At A Time
Matchy-Matchy (Rolls Eyes)
Creating a look is more than just matching up brands and or colors. It’s about telling a story of what it is you’re trying to represent through clothing. It gives people an insight to who you are as a person.
One thing I rarely do is wear an outfit in which the entire look came from the same store or brand. A perfect example is a recent Sunday on a speed boat. I paired a sunhat from target with a swimsuit for an online Black-Owned Brand I support, oversized button down cover up from Target, shorts from Fashion Nova, sandals from Target, sunglasses from a vintage shop, completed with a Louis Vuitton Neverful Bag. It was a lot going on but it was cute and flowed together well.
I say all of that to say, just because your shirt came from Urban Outiftters doesn’t mean the entire look must come from there as well.
Pieces Over Outfits
Some people have a hard time understanding the concept of purchasing pieces for a later date. They think they have to buy each piece to complete an outfit instantly. In some incidents, this is the case for me. However, for the most part I find cute things, purchase them and save them for a later date. Doing this Shein Haul was the perfect example of finding random items to match with other items, hence creating looks with depth.
Mix Inexpensive Trendy Items with High End Staple Pieces.
Yes, I love designer brands. But knowing how to dress does not mean buy the entire look from a brand. Thats just fashion, style is knowing how to mix and match pieces to where people don’t know what is high end. Or in the case of these looks under 25.00 each.
I can style a 7.00 t-shirt with 400.00 sneakers and a designer handbag effortlessly. You’ve got to keep people guessing. Make less expensive items look high end by pairing them with quality staple pieces.
Final Thoughts On This Shein Haul
I can’t lie I am extremely happy with this haul and even though I was goofing around with the try-on looks. All of the items are of quality and mesh well with my current wardrobe. I’m also excited to get this Youtube thing rolling. Be sure to subscribe and let me know more of what you want to see.
